Taste, colour, cooking,
moderation and senses.

Five core elements of Japanese cuisine — taste, colour, cooking, moderation and senses – guide chef Hiroshi Manaka in FIVE, Prefecture 48’s European/Japanese fine dining restaurant. Magnus Design Office created the brand identity for FIVE by starting with food in its purest state; raw ingredients.

We worked with photographer Christoper Walsh to create dark and delicate imagery of specific ingredients used on each seasonal menu. This imagery then informed the interiors team to work with Ikebana artist Yuki Tsuji to create an Ikebana installation in the restaurant, reinforcing our strategy of celebrating raw and organic ingredients from the natural world.
